Green terraces

As part of our commitment, we try to reduce the environmental impact of our actions. Our green terraces were designed to fit the natural landscape and favor biodiversity, improving the overall quality of life.

Green terraces have become a symbol of sustainable buildings that goes beyond aesthetic values: they turn roofs into an artificial ecosystem. They are a definite win for the environment. Houses are like big concrete umbrellas that repel water, making it hard for water to drain and continue its natural cycle. This is why the terraces retain rainwater and slowly release it into drainpipes.

Concrete buildings also heat up during the day, and then can’t cool off at night, making interiors uncomfortably warm. Plants and water help to dissipate the heat through photosynthesis and evaporation.

“Green terraces are a definite win for the environment.”

Main benefits of green terraces

They provide thermal insulation

Green roofs and walls lower costs, since they cut air-conditioning and heating usage by keeping temperature stable inside the villas.

They have sound-proofing qualities

They naturally sound-proof buildings, which improves the overall quality of life of guests.

They extend the roof’s lifespan

Vegetation protects tiles and membrane from the sun, extending their lifespan and making them even more waterproof.

They purify the air

Plants naturally purify the air and help keep it clean by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. 200 m2/650 ft2 of green terraces can produce enough oxygen to sustain a typical family.

Rainwater collecting and purification

Plants help prevent flooding by preserving water’s natural cycle. They also filter out pollutants. Rainwater collection, in turn, is equally important: an average green terrace can retain up to 60% of the rainwater it received in a day.

They create green spaces

The green terraces on our villas make them even more beautiful and help integrate them to the Atlantic Forest that surrounds them. The different shades of green have an uplifting effect and directly improve the mood of people. They have a positive impact on their quality of life and mark the significance of making the most of the environment.

They catch pollutants

Plants filter out pollutants that, if inhaled, cause respiratory issues. They reduce environmental pollution.

They provide a space for recreation and socializing

Green roofs can become social spaces where people can gather, grow produce, and even teach others about environmental awareness.

They help keep the ecosystem healthy

Green terraces and walls improve the ecosystem by guaranteeing biodiversity, reducing the environmental impact of the complex and improving the overall quality of life.
