About Us

Our Hotel

Gamboa Hotel & Private Villas is located on Gamboa beach, only 2 km/1.2 miles away from the Morro de São Paulo village in the island of Tinharé, which is in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The first-rate complex spans about 9 hectares/22 acres of land and offers breathtaking views of the glorious sea and never-ending lush greenery.
The project consists of a boutique hotel and several luxury villas, as well as diverse tourist attractions, a shopping center and a gastronomic district. Our goal is to become Bahia’s best hospitality choice, leaning heavily on our incredible location, natural surroundings and the promotion of biodiversity and local culture. Our architecture, design choices and environmental awareness are what really sets us apart.
Our best features? The green terraces you can find in each building of the complex, our rainwater collection system, the reforestation project with native species and the 5 hectares/12 acres of natural reserve.

Gamboa beach

Gamboa is situated to the northeast of Morro de São Paulo. It is a charming fishing village, with peaceful beaches and the best sunsets.
Sitting right between the Morro de São Paulo and Gamboa, on a hill that is almost upon the village, is a famous clay wall (Paredâo de Argila) that is used as a natural spa. Here, you can enjoy astounding views and medicinal mud baths.
The whole island—particularly the Morro and Gamboa villages—is filled with incredibly beautiful natural spots and spectacular beaches; it truly is Bahia’s southern treasure. The water at Gamboa beach is warm and calm, perfect for jumping in and relaxing. Water sports are quite popular here, and people regularly stand-up paddle, kayak, and swim—or just walk along the shore, of course.
You can enjoy the very best of local cuisine right by the seaside, where visitors may dine at several first-rate restaurants.
The famous 5-meter/16-feet waterfall called Fonte do Céu is inside our property, shrouded by the Atlantic Forest. Guests can visit this refreshing waterfall and rest there while enjoying the tranquil sounds of nature.
Visiting Coroa Island (Coroa do Meio) is a must too! A sand bank right in the middle of the azure sea, this island offers the best views of the sunset. Choose an unforgettable experience.

Means of transport

You will have a car—and a driver—available, should you wish to avoid walking to your destination. Take our UTV Polaris to the beach, the village, or any restaurant of your liking! Gamboa and Morro’s shopping centers are actually car-free zones, so you will have to walk there, but anywhere else is accessible via car, which means we can take you there.
Please note that the cost includes two daily round trips to any beach or spot in Morro de São Paulo or Gamboa, provided the destination is accessible via car.

OUR COMMITMENT

Green walls and terraces

Our green terraces were designed to keep a delicate balance with the natural landscape while also sound-proofing the buildings, thermally insulating them and extending the roofs’ lifespan.

Rainwater collection

Our rainwater collection system helps preserve this essential resource and make use of it all throughout the complex while preventing major flooding in the area.

Reforestation native species

These plants play a vital part in the local ecosystem, and they are the main source of food and shelter for local wildlife, especially for birds and butterflies.

5 hectares of nature permanently preserved

We occupy only 2% of the natural area of the morro, helping to keep a balanced ecosystem and protect all the natural elements.
